The Big Chill was founded by Pete Lawrence and Katrina Larkin in the early 90s and became a ground breaking arts and music festival in the UK.  The specific intent of the Big Chill was to give space to quality music that was not necessarily getting attention at other festivals and which pushed boundaries. Pete Lawrence who founded the festival also founded The Big Chill label which in its history, has released albums by Tom Middleton, Alucidnation, Leggo Beast, Eva Abraham and compilations by Pete Lawrence, Mr Scruff, Chris Coco and an array of exquisite and influential DJs.

The label is about to be relaunched globally and has just signed a US deal with the San Francisco based A-Train Entertainment.  Eugenie Arrowsmith who now runs the label and who worked for Pete Lawrence and Katrina Larkin from 2005 had this to say: “We have an amazing reissue of Alucidnation’s classic 2004 album Induction with a whole host of unheard of, off cuts and remixes, the debut album by John Turrell (of Smove and Turrell fame), the debut Kalukuta Millionaires release, eclectic romantic indie pop from Strange Billy The Saint and Bernadette Pike and a graceful acoustic album from BBC6 Music favourite Zoe Konez.”
