World renowned percussionist, Airto Moreira, wins Best Percussionist in the 77th Annual DownBeat Readers Poll, again.  This marks his third win in a row since claiming the top spot in the 75th Readers Poll.  Established in 1934, DownBeat’s Annual Readers Poll award is a prestigious honor.  The ‘percussion’ category was initiated in 1973 in honor of Airto.  Since then, he has won Best Percussionist multiple times in both the Readers and Critics polls.  A Train thanks the Readers for voting and congratulates Airto on his recognition.

Bouger Le Monde – Climbs to #1 World Music Charts Europe

“The explosive debut album from Staff Benda Bilili is perhaps an example of African street music at its finest. The sound is a curious mix of Afro Rumba, Latin Rhythms and rich vocal harmonies. Each track is diverse, vibrant and wholly unique, yet the album retains a uniformity of sound and style that is both interesting and infectious…” – Johnny Lais BBC (UK)
