“Dust Bowl Children” by Peter Rowan on Grammy Award Winning Release

A Grammy Award winner himself, Peter Rowan was delighted that his classic ballad “Dust Bowl Children” was included in Alison Krauss’ Best Bluegrass Album, Paper Airplane, a winner at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. Alison and Dan’s rendition perfectly complemented Rowan’s haunting lyrics. As Alison said, “I’ve thought about that tune forever. It was on an album of [Peter Rowan’s] called Dustbowl Children that Jerry [Douglas] had produced, like, 3,000 years ago. My brother [Viktor Krauss] would do rock versions of that song with distorted guitar! The song is just beautiful. “
